     Activities: Played basketball: Team went to state playoffs.                     (some of the playoffs games were held outside.)

     Nickname: ‘Little Fizz’

  Work:   

     Worked as a sales clerk for his Aunt Bertha Eye.  Probably at the           local Irondale grocery.

  Personal:

     Currently Dating: Patsy Ruth Merrill,  younger sister of Daisy                  and first cousin of his best friend Bob Merrill. (But, always                      keeping an eye open to other possibilities.)

     Has a bit of a temper; always in competition with his brother –               once chased his older brother Winfred up  a tree and broke                 his nose throwing a bar of soap (ie. a rock) at him. 

     Activities: Loves to play basketball and pool. Thinks he is great              at both.  Considers himself to be a ‘lady’s man’.

     First posting: by July 1943 to Fort Worden – near Port Townshend,             WA. – 248th  Coastal Artillery,  Battery D
