Wes Worthan                       Likely an older brother of a high school friend of Winfred’s.  Fought in Tunisia in the North Africa Tank Corp

                                                 in 1942-3.

Bob Dickey                           Friend and IHS classmate of Winfred.

Robert (Bob) Merrill           High School friend of Clifford and Winfred; first cousin to Patsy Merrill; Clifford’s girlfriend and younger sister

                                                 of Daisy Merrill.    Joined the Marines and was stationed in San Diego in 1943.  A few of Bob’s letters were

                                                 found in the box of letters. They were sent to his best friend Clifford.  Bob was a colorful writer.

Tommy French                      (John O’Neil, a reccent resident of Irondale, said he knew him, or maybe his son.)

Bud Puckett                          Winfred’s friend.  He served in the navy.

Kenny ?                                   Good friend of Winfred.  Stationed at Great Lakes in 1943.

Lois?                                        Winfred’s on-again-off-again girlfriend in 1943.  Her last name is likely Brenecke.  He knew her family from

                                                  Irondale.  

Patsy Merrill                          Clifford’s girlfriend at the start of the war; WIll become Winfred’s wife after the war.

Erma Dickey                         First cousin to Margaret, Winfred and Clifford. Youngest daughter (16 at the start of the war) of their Uncle

                                                 Herman and Aunt Annie. Margaret stayed with the Dickey’s in their flat in South St. Louis during the war to

                                                 be near her job.
